Things I Want In Safari

I love Safari: its wonderful standards support, its integration into the mac environment, its flashiness. However, it has its flaws too. Here are 5 things I’d like to see in Safari 5

  1. Separate processes for tabs (like Google Chrome)
  2. Restore session (like Firefox)
  3. A “Reopen last/recently closed tab(s)” option (I rarely work with just one tab in a window but should I accidentally close one, a common error in Safari 4, I can’t jump back to it easily)
  4. “Search in Google” menu item opens search in new tab
  5. Typing terms into the address bar submits them to the current default search engine instead of trying to resolve what is clearly an invalid URI

I also have a minor request for a more robust “Open Address in New Tab” option that shows up even when the protocol or www subdomain is left off, could you squeeze this in before the Safari 4 public release? Please with a cherry on top? Thanks Steve.
