Head in the Clouds

So I’ve been watching Dollhouse on Hulu and trying to decide how I feel about the show and it’s characters. After 3 episodes I began to get into the swing and actually care about the characters plus it’s clear that Echo is becoming a composite and that ALPHA is still alive and coordinating her development.

Still, I have reservations about the show. In Joss’ Firefly I watched it and my response to the science fiction cast as a western was: “no duh, this should have been done sooner.” The puzzle pieces fit. Dollhouse… not so much. There are plot hole big enough to drive a big black surveillance van through and the show has shied away from answering the biggest question: why would a millionaire choose to go to dollhouse over just hiring a specialist or prostitute?

Overall, I love the concepts exhibited but the piece feels like a draft. “Hey this would be cool,” but nobody put enough time into making it all fit. Still if you grit your teeth and shore up your suspension of disbelief then Dollhouse is a fun romp.
